With the DVSA now preparing for the introduction of 1C Smart Tachograph legislation, Tachograph centres should now start to consider their mandatory uplift tachograph training requirements.

With around 3000 technicians to train scheduled to commence in January 2019 and be completed by the end of June  2019 can you really afford to get left behind.

1C training to be carried out by all technicians by the end of June  (mandatory) will comprise of either:

 

A 1C uplift course only and validity will apply until the end of the technicians current 1B certificate

 

Or delegates whom require Refresher training after the DVSA approval date of all training course providers material  (January 2019) up to June 15th will sit a combined new 1B 1C Refresher course. (i.e no uplift required)

Remember a technician may complete his Refresher training 3 months prior to his current certificate expiry and still retain his current certificate expiry date so this may impact technicians whose certificates expire up to September 15th.

All Initial training will be carried out as combined 1B and 1C after DVSA Approval with no courses allowed just for 1B once 1C courses are approved.
