One of the requirements of the Tachograph Centre is to carry out mandatory Quality Control checks on a 3 monthly and 6 monthly basis. With a much greater emphasis on DVSA enforcement failure to carry out these checks may result in disciplinary action taken against the centre and ultimately the threat of cessation of approval.

Allocating the time to carry out these checks may prove difficult in circumstances where the centre is very busy or the staff turnover creates problems with the continuity of these checks .

DVSA stipulate these checks CAN ONLY BE CARRIED OUT BY A CERTIFIED TACHOGRAPH TECHNICIAN OR A THIRD PARTY PERSON APPROVED BY THE DVSA.
